The Vegetable Orchestra
From their website: The Vegetable Orchestra performs music solely on instruments made of vegetables. Using carrot flutes, pumpkin basses, leek violins, leek-zucchini-vibrators, cucumberophones and celery bongos, the orchestra creates its own extraordinary and vegetabile sound universe. The ensemble overcomes preserved and marinated sound conceptions or tirelessly re-stewed listening habits, putting its focus on expanding the variety of vegetable instruments, developing novel musical ideas and exploring fresh vegetable sound gardens.

by playing stupid beats and emulating traditional instruments with vegetables?!?!?!? yeah right.....its like using a moog synth to emulate a trumpet. i just dont dig it.
the sound of them making their instruments was way more interesting thank any of their 'musical' stuff.
cant help but think this is a bunch music school / classical orchestra nerds gone gimmicky and lame.
I'm pretty sure this is all tongue-in-cheek, especially considering that pun-ladden write-up: "preserved", "marinated" "stewed"....cute.
It's basically the culinary equivalent of the choral ensemble that does the sound effects for the Honda commercial.
I snicker at 'leek-zucchini vibrators'. . .

:)
haha!
the only time ive ever used vegetable sounds in my music was for a cover of vegetables by the beach boys.
the fact that they all look so damn serious while they are playing just slays me. i keep thinking: they aren't serious...are they? they can't be...serious. what a bunch of tards.
